Concrete Pool Deck Installation in the Central Valley
Cool-touch, non-slip surfaces that look stunning and stay safe for bare feet — engineered to handle intense Central Valley summers.

The Problem
What homeowners are dealing with
A pool is only as good as the deck around it. Plain gray concrete gets painfully hot under the Central Valley sun, cracked decks create rough edges around expensive pool liners, and slick surfaces turn every splash into a slip risk.
If your existing pool deck has lifted sections, visible cracks, or a scalding surface in summer, it is time for a surface built for the way pools actually get used here.
Signs you need this
- A pool deck surface too hot to walk on barefoot
- Cracks or lifted slabs around the pool edge
- Slippery areas that get dangerous when wet
- Water that pools on the deck instead of draining
- An outdated deck that clashes with your pool

Common questions
Textured and cool-touch finishes are the top choice here. They reflect heat better, stay comfortable underfoot in summer, and add grip when wet. Stamped finishes can also work well with a slip-resistant texture applied on top.
In most cases we remove the old deck so we can prep a proper base and get drainage right. Pouring over failing concrete just transfers the old problems upward, so we will usually recommend a full replacement.
We build a slight, consistent slope into the deck so water flows away from the pool and the house, and we add expansion and control joints so the deck moves safely with the seasons.
Stay off the deck for 24 to 48 hours and keep it dry. We give you a clear timeline, and we time pours so you are not losing pool season longer than necessary.
